The Future of American Cities?

Here's a small video clip by Associated Press that is worth watching and thinking about.  When I view this video I think of Los Angeles, California.  I also think of Oakland California where police were laid off and anti-gang units were shut down because the city reportedly could no longer afford them.

The video shows what happens if narco-criminal insurgents are ignored.

The place of this video is Brazil.  Background?  Brazil has been facing its own little narco-insurgencies, albeit at very localized levels.  Regardless, the scenario provides viewers a small petri of what may be in the futures of Mexico and some cities in the United States.

Combine unemployment, laid-off police due to budget constraints and lack of opportunities and we have the makings of a Brazilian gang.
