Here's a small video clip by Associated Press that is worth watching and thinking about. When I view this video I think of Los Angeles, California. I also think of Oakland California where police were laid off and anti-gang units were shut down because the city reportedly could no longer afford them.
The video shows what happens if narco-criminal insurgents are ignored.
The place of this video is Brazil. Background? Brazil has been facing its own little narco-insurgencies, albeit at very localized levels. Regardless, the scenario provides viewers a small petri of what may be in the futures of Mexico and some cities in the United States.
Combine unemployment, laid-off police due to budget constraints and lack of opportunities and we have the makings of a Brazilian gang.
