Latin American Herald Tribune - Mexico to Look at Reporting of Drug-Related Killings

The Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) here is that it appears Mexico realizes it has an image problem that it needs to address. The government looks very ineffective when it comes to protecting it's people.

Mexican deaths have quadrupled since 2006-2008 with 7,000 deaths to 2008-2010 deaths hitting 28,000.

The increasing number of deaths is forcing the government to respond. In conjunction with non-governmnet organizations, the Mexican government is to working on a better methodology to account for those deaths. This study will reportedly conclude this November 2010.
